Rho Slay was born & raised in Detroit, MI

Born & raised by her parents and has three siblings, music has always been her passion​

Going on to participate in marching & concert band throughout grade school to college, receiving five music scholarships. SLAY, played on the drumline in the SWAAC in college at Alabama A&M University. Interest in various representing HBCUs

• Kentucky State University, UAPB, Norfolk State University, Tennessee State University, & Alabama A & M University.“During the summer, I felt it necessary to help those coming up in music at an early age. Teaching students from ages 8-17  with 1-on-1 music theory and percussion lessons is something I will always be grateful for giving back to inspire our youth.   ~ SLAY

PRODUCTION

 

SLAY attended Media Tech Institute in Houston, TX for Audio Engineering, and started learning music production in 2011. She was later asked to join an independent record label as a music producer, after dealing with different changes in life, she decided to go on to new opportunities and music endeavors.

All that production and music-making creativity formed a new skill and business venture DJ'ing!

In 2018, she began DJ'ing weddings, corporate, live radio, and charitable programs, continuing to give back through music and continuing to entertain the world one track at a time.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• 2019 Produced 4 tracks for a Contemporary Gospel EP

• Started a 501c(3) non-profit organization teaching music & media to the youth working with Judge Mathis youth group in Detroit, MI.

• ​Got radio play on mainstream radio stations including Praise Detroit, and Radio One platforms. ​

• 2020 Sorry song viral placement for online platform Voisey​

• 2021 Music license agreements shopped contracts for Real Housewives of Atlanta, Amazon, & Shahs of Sunset. ​

• 2022 Became an Access Member and an A & R Consultant for the Winners Circle Publishing Company.

• 2023 Founded Rho Slay Beats LLC

• Live interview with RNSD Podcast 

• 2 Magazine interviews with Bold Journey & Voyage Michigan Magazine 

• Released a Dance Beat Tape Album titled "Movement"

• Became a Beatstars Publishing Member
